Learning Objectives

  • Provide an enhanced knowledge of the clinical impact (morbidity/mortality) of appropriate and inappropriate shocks.
  • Provide an improved understanding of ICD programming strategies
  • Have improved understanding of patients with Brugada syndrome and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy at risk of sudden cardiac death
  • Know the necessary investigative workup required to evaluate those patients at risk and be able to determine which patients to refer for prophylactic device implant
