The Physician Payments Sunshine Act requires manufacturers of drugs, medical devices and biologicals that participate in U.S. federal health care programs to report certain payments and items of value given to physicians and teaching hospitals. As required by the legislation, The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) implemented the Sunshine Act and developed the transparency program called it the Open Payments. Manufacturers now are required to submit annual data on payment and other transfers of value that they make to covered recipients, which are published on an annual basis at the end of June.  Physicians have the opportunity to review and disputed the data submitted by the manufacturers prior to its publication during a 45 day review period.

This complimentary on-demand webinar, presented by Dr. David Slotwiner and Dr. Richard Fogel, provide an overview of the Open Payments as well as steps that U.S. physicians needs to take to review their data prior to publication and disputed them if needed.
